Vintage Wedding

What is a Vintage Themed Wedding?

Vintage is a timeless look for your Wedding Day, and it's a style that never goes away. Drawing inspiration from the past, a vintage wedding adds an element of romantic, elegant, sepia tones to your special day.

Now, when I talk about vintage, I am referring to the 194o's, but that may be because I'm old. Today's generations might refer to vintage as the 1980's, or god forbid the 2000's! Vintage to me means, rustic, textured, lace, telegrams, flowers, ornate objects like brass keys and old clocks, more lace, cream colours, wood - lots of wood, photo frames, more flowers, candles and more lace.

Real Life Vintage Wedding

The recent wedding of one of my lovely couples took the Vintage theme to it's full. They announced their wedding with my Jessica Wedding Invitation, a lovely vintage telegram invitation, with an old look background and a textured card, topped off with a kraft envelope to add that vintage rustic effect.

On the day the couple included many elements to create the Vintage feel. They had newspapers from the past, beautiful traditional flowers, sepia printed photographs and vintage wedding stationery to complement their theme.

On entering the wedding breakfast guests were greeted with the Jessica Vintage Telegram style seating plan. The table settings included the Jessica table names, customised with names of famous people like Vera Lynn and Bob Hope. And the pièce de résistance, one of my Jessica Ration Book place names. Each A6 ration book is personalised with the guests name on the front, and inside includes details on the meal, an itinerary of the day, and a little note on the reverse to say thank you. The attention to detail in these ration books is to be noted, with stamps showing the bride and groom's name and date of wedding. This is a real wow factor for any Vintage Themed wedding.

The Jessica Vintage Wedding Set

My Jessica Wedding Set focuses on the vintage telegram design, adapting these to include the elements of your special day. The invitations are printed on a slightly textured card with a vintage coloured background, to give the effect of them being old and resurfacing from the past.

I love creating these invitations so much, I don't know why but it makes me feel warm inside, I think it's the nostalgia, the idea that the olden days were full of real love and real romance.

Head on over to my Jessica Set Page to see examples of the following:

  • Telegram Wedding Invitation or Reception Invitation

  • Telegram RSVP

  • Telegram Information Card

  • Ration Book Menu and Table Setting

  • A Telegram Inspired Table Plan

  • Telegram Inspired Table Numbers

We would recommend this site as they did our wedding invitations and we were over the moon with the out come.
